InnOBreed’s first international training course

InnoBreed is organising its first international training course this spring 14-16 May. The course will take the format of lectures and exercises and will be set up online to enable students and researchers in organic breeding from across Europe to participate.

For three days, lectures will be held by InnOBreed consortium partners and participants will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the course.

The course will in particular share knowledge on the following topics:

  • Collection, management and evaluation of fruit tree genetic resources
  • Genetic diversity assessment and exploitation
  • Organisation and use of descriptors of phenotypic traits
  • Evaluation of fruit tree biotic and abiotic stresses
  • Principles of fruit tree breeding for qualitative and quantitative traits
  • Principles of fruit tree breeding for adaptation to biotic and abiotic stresses
  • Principles of rootstock breeding
  • Non-destructive evaluation methods: the NIR spectra
